Frequently Asked Questions
Your time is valuable — so let's get straight to the point.
How much does a tattoo cost at your Bali studio?
Pricing varies based on size, complexity, and placement. Small tattoos (around 5x5cm) start from $80-120 AUD, while medium pieces typically range $200-400 AUD. Larger custom work is quoted individually after consultation. All prices include aftercare products. We accept cash (IDR or USD), card payments, and digital transfers. Currency exchange rates are competitive, and you'll often find our Bali rates 30-50% lower than equivalent studios in Australia!
Is it safe to get a tattoo in Bali?
Absolutely! Voltattoo maintains international health and safety standards. We use:
Single-use, sterile needles (opened in front of you)
Medical-grade autoclave sterilization
Premium quality inks (vegan-friendly options available)
Fully licensed and experienced artists
Clean, air-conditioned studio environment
Many Australian clients choose us specifically for our hygiene protocols that match or exceed standards back home.
Do you take walk-ins or is it by appointment only?
We welcome both! Walk-ins are accepted during business hours (9am-10pm daily), though there may be a wait depending on artist availability. For custom work or specific artists, we highly recommend booking ahead via WhatsApp (+62 811-2850-4444 ) or Instagram DM (@voltattoobali). This is especially important during Australian school holidays and peak tourist seasons (June-August, December-January) when we get busy with fellow Aussies!
What's the minimum charge for a tattoo?
Our minimum charge is $80 AUD (approximately 850,000 IDR). This covers small designs like simple text, tiny symbols, or minimalist line work up to about 5cm. Flash designs from our portfolio often fall into this category. Remember, quality isn't compromised just because it's small!
Do you provide numbing cream?
Yes! We offer premium numbing cream upon request at no additional charge for larger pieces or sensitive areas. Just let your artist know at the start of your session. We use professional-grade topical anesthetics that are safe and effective. Many of our Australian clients appreciate this option, especially for longer sessions or areas like ribs, feet, or spine.
Can I swim or go to the beach after getting a tattoo?
We recommend avoiding swimming for 2-3 weeks after getting tattooed. This includes the ocean, pools, hot tubs, and even long baths. Bali's beaches are tempting, we know! But saltwater, chlorine, and bacteria can cause infections and fade your fresh ink. Light showers are fine after 24 hours. Pro tip: Get tattooed at the end of your Bali trip so you can enjoy the beaches worry-free, then heal properly back home in Australia!
